Baptiste Power Vinyasa Class / 90 Degrees / 60 minutes
Dedicated to the yoga for almost six years now has opened Malia’s eyes and ears to the flow of life, on and off the mat. Malia’s first discovered the yoga with Bikram Yoga, while seeking her BFA in Design at the University of Texas. What she thought was just a physical practice became a much deeper, mind, body, and spiritual practice.
A dear teacher, friend, and mentor, Vanessa Fiola, introduced Malia to Baptiste Power Vinyasa Yoga in 2004. Thus, she attended one of Baron Baptiste’s Power Revolution Weekends. Baron’s teaches you to live from authentic truth and thus, she decided it was time to do just that. Malia has attended Baptiste Power Yoga Institiute’s Level 1 and 2 trainings, along with various trainings and workshops with Shiva Rae and Ana Forrest.
Malia is currently working on her 500 hour registered yoga certification through Yoga Alliance and teaches group classes at various studios and private lessons in Austin, Texas.

Kellie is originally from Topeka, Kansas. She attended Kansas State University in Manhattan, Kansas for her undergraduate degree in mechanical engineering. While she was always involved in some kind of physical fitness, she did not experience much yoga until 2001 when she left the Midwest to come to Houston for a job in the petroleum industry. Her first experience with yoga was in the form of videos, which made the practice seem impossible. Then she started venturing out, taking classes at gyms and discovered that she did enjoy practice but something was still missing. In around 2004, she walked into a studio to try a style of which she had never heard – Baptiste Power Vinyasa Flow. Wringing wet, she left that practice with a feeling that this was very special. Still a slow starter, she began practicing at the studio once a week. Finally in 2005, after a heart to heart with her teacher and reading Journey into Power by Baron Baptiste, she got serious. She began to practice 4-6 times per week, as much as her studio would offer. She also started researching the Baptiste website and was struck by the teacher training offered. She applied to Level One thinking she would never be accepted but sure enough, she was on a plane to Hilo, Hawaii in February 2006. The experience was so life-changing that she decided to apply to business school and quit her job to pursue an MBA; which is what brings her to Austin. She is currently an MBA student at the University of Texas to get her business training while teaching yoga to increase that experience. Since then she also completed Baron's Baptiste's level 2 training in June of 2007.

Zoe Mantarakis is a local favorite for her uniquely sequenced and challenging yoga flow classes which she infuses with her knowledge of yogic philosophy. She and musician Oliver Rajamani have combined their talents to create "Rhythm of the Soul" a workshop series in which yoga flow is enhanced by live Indian music. Zoe's month-long honeymoon in India in 2003 included a daily Ashtanga practice in the Himalayas. Having lived in Los Angeles and New York City, she has had the opportunity to study yoga with some of the world's leading teachers including Max Strom, Ramanand Patel, Shiva Rae, Rodney Yee, and Sharon Gannon and David Life of Jivamukti Yoga. Some of her most profound influences have come from the Anusara tradition of yoga, with its eye for anatomical alignment and appreciation of tantric yoga philosophy. Zoe holds a BA in Philosophy from the University of California, Berkeley. She is the proud and loving mother of two beautiful boys.

E. Cooper Seay R.Y.T. began practicing yoga in 1997, blessed by two integral yoga teachers who were both doctors of chiropractic; her first instruction was both spiritual and profoundly informed by the instructors' knowledge of the body. A lifelong athlete, Cooper became diverted by more physically challenging forms of hatha, going on to become a Bikram instructor. After four years of teaching an average of fourteen classes a week, running studios and eventually opening her own studio, she came full circle. Following her integral lineage she traveled to Kerala India to obtain her Sivananda teaching certificate. It was in the sivananda ashram that she was able to connect her earlier career as a musician with her yoga through both bhajan and kirtan. After completing a teacher training in bhava yoga, Cooper began her current path and passion, teaching vinyasa in the Krishnamacharya lineage.
Cooper's personal practice is defined by her love of vinyasa and her love of Iyengar. As counterpoint to her hatha yoga, Cooper practices vippasana meditation as taught by SN Goenka. As a teacher, Cooper strives to integrate the tappas of a strong practice with the santosha of a quiet mind. She is sensitive to the perils of strong physical work in a culture that is body obsessed, and believes that only through the eight-limbed path can we become free from internal friction. "The yoga shala is a laboratory, it is where we begin to observe our patterning. It is an amazing journey to become aware enough to observe, and in control enough to create more options for our behavior."
"...Each of us is here to discover our true Self, to find out on our own that our true Self is spiritual, that essentially we are spiritual beings that have taken manifestation in physical form. We're not human beings that have occasional spiritual experiences - it's the other way around: we're spiritual beings that have occasional human experiences."
