That’s right, Cynthia Pierce is turning 67 years young on Saturday, July 26th and you are invited to come practice Saturday 10:00 am to celebrate her birthday. AKA “Mom” has been practicing yoga since we opened the doors 8+ years. She is such an inspiration to us all. Did you know that she practices every single day. She does not skip a single day. She is loving the new Sridaiva yoga because it is giving her new access to her back body. Have you seen her Galavasana? It is never to late in life to start yoga. Read her bio here and check out her video.
Artist, Mom and Breath and Body Yoga Power Vinyasa Yoga Teacher, RYT 200
Yoga has been my “fountain of youth.” As I started coming into my 60’s my body began sinking forward, my hip joints were inflamed, and vertigo stopped me in my tracks. After one year of power vinyasa I had regained ½ “ in height and the hip joints healed. My second year has been a complete marvel! Headstands, handstands, backbends, that I never achieved as a child are giving me a new world. As for the vertigo….the peace found on the mat guides me gently, and now the spells do not exist. Yoga gave me clarity of thought, and my mind flooded with the plans for the last period of my life. I had always explored the value of many foods, but my heart came into play. I made the decision to strengthen my body with as many nutrients, vitamins and enzymes as possible. I chose never to be the cause of an animal suffering. I became a vegan!
During these last 8 years of my plant-based diet has yielded even greater clarity of mind. My thoughts have been released from the anger, sorrows and self-doubt that clutched and cluttered the first 2/3 of my life. Now, a lightness surrounds me. My daily yoga practice is still progressing (with handstands, backbends, balancing poses). I now have an awareness that ALL that surrounds my shines brightly.
We love you Mom!
BTW- Cynthia shares a birthday with Mic Jagger. She is very proud of that accomplishment.
