We are very excited to announce the arrival of Desi Springer and John Friend, the creators of the revolutionary Bowspring Method from January 25 - February 25, 2020. Here, at Breath and Body Yoga we have embraced the Bowspring Method from its beginning. This method empowers our students and we have seen, first hand, the magic that it can create in our body, in this practice. We will be offering Private Sessions, Workshops, Teacher Training, Group Classes and Lectures. These powerful lessons can be implemented into your everyday and boost any activity. Learn how to evenly tone your body on all sides, maximize your actions, increase your mindfulness and ignite your inner strength. The Bowspring is a paradigm-shift for modern postural yoga, so people should be ready for a revolutionary experience in our Bohemian residency at Breath & Body Yoga.
Join us for daily practices of breath, dynamic postural alignment and mind exercises. The practices are here to inspire each of us to live a free, artistic and harmonious lifestyle. Through learning self-awareness and self-sovereignty, we develop and maturate the default tendencies of our mind and emotions. Our inner liberty is based on the degree of our cultivated self-discipline and control of our habits and addictions of body and mind. Instead of continuing to push the mainstream idea that personal liberty is freedom from the social and ethical constraints, we will emphasize how to gain freedom by working together cooperatively in a virtue-oriented community. That is a 21st century Bohemian lifestyle! Be part of this progressive, life-altering movement, ride the wave of change and see how high it can take you! Students are expected to gather from all over the world, the energy that is created during these unique trainings is very powerful. Join us, whenever you can, but don’t miss out!

Uniting two parts in a harmonic flow adds up to more than the expected sum of two parts! A synergy occurs when parts connect in a cooperative engagement with such dynamically balanced resonance that the whole expands and becomes greater than the sum of its parts. These Bowspring sessions will be putting together the alignments of the 10 key areas into a dynamic synthesis expressed through precise exercise sequences (katas).
Sessions include focus on the mind-body alignment for the Wings (hands, arms, shoulders) and the Roots (feet, legs, hips); Core work (belly and lower back), the 3 Apples (Heart, hips, head) and 2 Apple-cores (waist and neck). Also included: Side Spirals in a variety of postural forms – backbends and arm-balancings to play the edge of slow, sensitive lightness and wide open twisting of the central channel.
Breathing practices: Power breathing (strong, long, full inhale, short, quick exhale); Turtle Breathing (slow, shallow, long inhale, slow, quiet, long exhale); and Taoist Breathing (inhale up the back, exhale down the front) – All practiced in Supine Bow at first to better teach controlled relaxation and inner quiet focus.
Each of the Wings, Roots, and the key areas along the central channel have somatic connections and associations to emotional memories and psychologic shadows. Each student takes accountability to explore the opening in all the key areas of their mind-body in a prudent way so they can best assimilate the experience of transformation within the Bowspring practice.
