BOWSPRING MASTER CLASS PRACTICE: ROOTS TO RISE

COSTS: $30 // PROGRAM DESCRIPTION: A dynamic movement practice focusing on breath and pulsation. Expand the possibilities of your practice further, we look at the roots through the power of the hips, legs and the feet.

BOWSPRING WORKSHOP: THE SEEDS OF POSSIBILITY

COSTS: $40 // PROGRAM DESCRIPTION: Mindful Movement Therapy that enhances wellness by using postural alignment with mindfulness and breath, creating tone and enhancing power and potential.

4. SUNDAY MAY 5TH // 12:00 - 2:30 PM

BOWSPRING WORKSHOP: SEED KATAS

COSTS: $40 // PROGRAM DESCRIPTION: The seed Kata is a fundamental Bowspring Kata designed to strengthen your Bowspring practice. It is a gateway to all Bowspring poses, the more fluent you become with this Kata the stronger your practice becomes as a whole.

MEDITATION WORKSHOP: THE FUTURE OF MEDITATION
Mindful Movement Therapy that enhances wellness by using postural alignment with mindfulness and breath, creating tone and enhancing power and potential. The Bowspring Practice is mobility and strength training with breath, awareness and focused attention. A unique aspect to the practice is that once learned it may be practiced in every day life to promote movement and physical wellbeing and as a way to improve power and performance in active sport

In this workshop we will look at:

  • What FORM & SHAPE will increase and support dynamic optimum movement

  • Techniques to TONE the whole body and decrease risk of injury

  • How to cultivate a DYNAMIC lifestyle by incorporating The Bowspring in simple every day movements

  • How to use the BREATH in your practice to enhance and improve circulation and your mood.

  • Designing a short DAILY PRACTICE to support your health and wellness.

This event is suitable for all level of practitioners including beginners. Each student will benefit from the experience regardless of their prior exposure to The Bowspring Method.

The event will include:

  • An introduction and overview of the Bowspring Method

  • A movement practice with key concepts to encourage isometric tone

  • Focused Mindful Movement for every day life

  • Breathwork

  • A 10 Minute morning sequence to take away with you.


THE ROOTS THAT GIVE RISE PRACTICE / SATURDAY MAY 4TH // 12:00 - 1:30 PM


A dynamic movement practice focusing on breath and pulsation. Expand the possibilities of your practice further, we look at the roots through the power of the hips, legs and the feet. Research is showing that the US population is increasingly sedentary. Sitting longer is associated with obesity, cancer, diabetes, cardiovascular disease and a higher mortality rates. In this Bowspring Master Class we will examine how we can counteract this by utilizing simple techniques. The practice will be open to all levels and will focus on the actions of the feet, legs and hips and include instruction on creating dynamic powerful energy of the posterior chain.
In this Master Class we will;

  • Examine Root System; Feet, Legs & Hips

  • Look at how we can relieve stress in the joints by tone and directionality of the musculature.

  • Look at how Bowspring Technology encourage strength in the hips and glutes.

  • Receive simple daily exercises to do whilst standing or sitting.

  • Optimize capacity to ground and stabilize as well as increase balance and fortitude. 

  • Develop reminders to help build habitual practice

  • Recover, Strengthen and Stabilize

  • Increase mobility & function

SEED KATAS / SUNDAY MAY 5TH // 12:00 - 2:30 PM

The Seed Kata is a fundamental Bowspring Kata designed to strengthen your Bowspring practice. It is a gateway to all Bowspring poses, the more fluent you become with this Kata the stronger your practice becomes as a whole. 

The Seed Kata is a foundational practice on which the mastery of the Bowspring Method is built. Students who continuously practice the Seed Kata become stronger whilst building awareness  and sensitivity.  The practice is Mindful so it has the added benefits of focused attention as well as regulating and training the breath. It is considered foundational to the method and a required aspect of learning for each student. The benefits extend to the beginner or the expert practitioner as it requires a great deal of mind body awareness and discipline to accomplish.

In this workshop we will;

  • Deconstruct the Seed Kata into smaller bite sized practices

  • Create sequence cards

  • Examine the required elemental forms 

  • Examine the required dynamic forms

  • Review the common misalignments

  • Practice the entire Seed Kata

This event is suitable for all practitioners including beginner students and is a required video submission for teachers in their certification process. Each person will benefit regardless of their prior exposure to the Bowspring Method. Please note you will benefit regardless of your physical fitness, function or mobility. Please let us know prior to the event if you have any limitations so that we may support you.

The event will include:

  • Demonstrations of the deconstructed Seed Kata

  • Focus points for considering when practicing

  • Handouts and a video link to watch and practice the Seed Kata

  • List of the Required forms (elemental and dynamic)

  • Periods of practice and assimilation.
